Speaking and Listening Unit 3 - Listening Activity -

Listening Activity

Activity – Things we can’t leave home without

Topic: Things in your bag
Level: Beginner
 [Listen to 2:59-5:30]

Activity

(~1-2 min): To start off the activity, ask genuinely if someone has hand-cream, or a mirror because you have misplaced yours (or something else of your choice). Have them talk about what they have in their bags. –Might need to use hand gestures-

(~6 min): Get them in pairs.
-Listen to podcast and answer the 4 questions on the handout sheet. Answer the questions. Review as a class (explain if/when necessary).

(~2 min): Hand out “what’s in your bag?” sheet to every student.

Ask them to share with the class what they have in their bags/purses and the total points as a group they have. Group with the most point’s wins! [– You might need to explain and show what certain items are, you can also re-arrange the items or include/take out more].  ---- this is to reinforce the everyday items they come across.----
